Most people only find out how bad their credit is when they apply for a loan, apartment or insurance and are rejected for having poor credit. Of course, it is much better to start off on the right foot and never get yourself into a situation where you have bad credit in the first place. With the right kind of knowledge and good habits, you will maintain good credit.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act allows every person in the United States to obtain a free credit report every year from the three credit reporting companies: Experian, TransUnion and Equifax. Even if you have a pretty decent credit score, there could be a couple errors one on of your reports that affect it slightly in the negative direction. In this case, it will be worthwhile for you to contact Trinity Credit Services to help you remove those negative items.

If you are young and working to start off on the right foot so that you don’t ever have to your credit, here are some important factors. The length of your credit history makes up fifteen percent of your credit score. So, if you are young, it is important to start creating a credit history for yourself. You can do this by getting a cell phone in your own name. You can also open one credit card, use it sparingly, and pay it off every month. Some people think that if they have a credit card they will ruin their credit score and put themselves into the position where they need to fix their credit immediately. Actually, having a card, using it, and paying off the balance on time every month is the best way to establish a good credit score. If you are responsible with your bills, paying on time and aren’t afraid to start a credit history for yourself, you will never have worry about how to fix credit.
